What is a component cable and what is it used for?
A
component cable, a handy little cable for your LCD, Plasma, or HDTV!
With this cable, you can achieve higher quality in terms of image for the Wii, much better than the regular RCA cable!
Please note that not every TV (especially older ones) can make use of this cable.
How does a component cable work and what sets it apart from a regular RCA cable?
With a regular RCA or Tulip plug, you have 3 plugs, sound left, sound right, and the image. This causes the issue of the image frequency getting mixed up.
With this
component cable, you have 5 plugs, left and right for sound, and 3(!) for the image, which results in better image quality and improved graphics!
What should you pay attention to when using a component cable?
When connecting, pay attention to the red cables, as there are 2 of them. If you connect them the wrong way, your image will not display correctly, so if the colors look odd, try swapping them first.
And once again, make sure to check if your TV supports this type of connection!
