Improved Gameplay and Dark Story in No More Heroes 2
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle is the sequel to the striking and energetic No More Heroes. Under the guidance of the beloved director Suda51, protagonist Travis Touchdown returns to Santa Destroy. He has a mission filled with bloody battles and absurd humour. This title also retains the eccentric style of its predecessor while adding several improvements and new gameplay elements that fans of the original will surely appreciate.

The story revolves around revenge: Travis returns to Santa Destroy after the murder of a friend and decides to fight his way back up through the ranks of assassins. The story is darker and more emotional than in the first part while maintaining its bizarre tone. Suda51 stays true to his style with unexpected plot twists, references to pop culture, and plenty of self-mockery. This unique way of storytelling keeps the narrative unpredictable and keeps you intrigued.

The core of the gameplay remains a combination of hack-and-slash action with motion controls. With the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, taking down enemies still feels great. Quick movements are interspersed with brutal finishing moves. The combat is smoother and more responsive than in the first part. New weapons and moves have been added to keep the variety and depth in battles high.

A major plus is the expansion of enemy types and bosses. Each of the bosses has its own fighting style and personality, making the battles memorable. There are also retro-style minigames added where you can play to earn money and upgrades. These minigames are inspired by classic 8-bit titles. They are fun and provide a bit of nostalgia, but they can also become repetitive quite quickly. A nice little extra then.

No More Heroes 2 features a stylish, cel-shaded design that fits well with all the craziness and over-the-top style of the game. The game creates a unique atmosphere with its colourful and bold style. The soundtrack is one of the highlights of the game, with a mix of genres that perfectly matches the insane action.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle is a worthy successor to the first part, with improved gameplay, a darker story, and a wide variety of bosses. It is once again an unforgettable experience and definitely recommended if you have played the first game or are looking for something absurd.

Travis makes a touchdown!!
Desperate Struggle is an improved version of No More Heroes. No city to roam around in, just a map to choose your destination from. The rank battles are back, still a bit cheaply done (like from 46 to 24 or something) but they remain the cream of the crop of the game. It's still so cool and brutal to mow down the baddies with Travis Touchdown's own original lightsabers.

Amazing game
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle is the sequel to an amazing game. In my opinion, the second part is even better than the first. The graphics are slightly improved and they have made the gameplay more challenging. If you have played the first part, this is an absolute 'must-have'!

Warning, SPOILER
Alright, I'm a big fan of No More Heroes 1, and this game...is just as awesome! 5 minutes in and the action kicks off with a Luke Skywalker wannabe seeking revenge because you killed his brother. Not that I want to spoil anything but it does start at the beginning...A friend of Travis gets killed by someone who pretty much owns the whole city. Now, this guy is the number 1 assassin, but Travis was the number 1 first, and if you want to be number 1, you gotta kill Travis...oh well. Instead of a GTA-like overworld, you now get a map and have to point out where you want to go. The jobs are replaced by minigames, The fitness workouts are replaced by minigames, and the clothing store has a new name. Much has changed, but here's the good part... NO RANKING BATTLE FEE ANYMORE! So no need to spend half a million on something that's mandatory! Oh, the graphics are top-notch, the humor is top-notch, and the game itself is excellent! The only downside is that the fight music/main theme now sucks...

Very good game with a rather bizarre story
No More Heroes 2 is a very good game. Good graphics, gameplay that utilizes the wii-mote. Also a good, perhaps slightly bizarre story. But this does give the game something special. There are a bit too many boss battles and also too many loading screens. But overall a very good Wii game!

A must-have for every Wii gamer!
Yesssss! No More Heroes 2 is here!
At first glance, nothing has changed: the chair in front of the TV, with a box of tissues and the trash can full of crumpled paper. Travis is not very mature...
Santa Destroy, the open city where you could walk and drive around, is gone; now you choose a destination from the city map and you're there. All the side jobs you can take on are now in 8-bit style, just like training to get stronger. But you can also just move on to the next step. The game doesn't force you to do anything.

The story is about taking out a bunch of fanatic assassins. But now he has a different motive to kill those assassins: one of them killed Travis' friend and Travis wants revenge.
What I miss are the phone calls that used to come through my Wii remote. But something new and nice is that Travis talks to you, Travis is one of us.

Still those beautiful graphics, of course, and plenty of new things to do in No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, a must-have for every Wii gamer!
