Reviews Mario Party 8 28 reviews - average rating 8,1The ultimate multiplayer experience with plenty of playable characters and fun minigames Mario Party 8 is, of course, the ultimate multiplayer game. The series may have been milked a bit, but that doesn't spoil the fun. This installment is no exception. With plenty of playable characters, incredibly fun minigames, smooth controls, and quite a bit of extra content, you and your friends will have a blast for a long time to come, even though major innovations are lacking. A game with sooo much to offer. What a top game! Despite the quality being a bit disappointing (which you quickly get used to), this is a game with a ton of possibilities.
You can play this game with up to 4 people. You navigate through different levels, and whoever reaches the end of the level first has the opportunity to buy a star. The player with the most stars ultimately wins. Mario Party 8 also offers a variety of levels such as the beach, city (hotel), a special browser world, the jungle, haunted house, and a train. Read more...
Each level has its own elements that make it challenging to acquire a star. This keeps the game fun to play. Before starting, you can choose how many rounds you want to play; a round of 10 would last about half an hour. You can't change this during gameplay!
After everyone has had a turn in a round, you get a mini-game. These are incredibly fun and relatively short. At first, they can be a bit tricky, but by setting the "computer" players to "easy," you can get used to the controls and how the game works. There's also an option to practice the mini-game before starting.
After each round, you earn Festival Points, which you can exchange for vehicles and extra sounds in your game. This is a nice addition from Nintendo. You can also replay all the mini-games if you don't feel like starting a whole new game right away. Hide. Cijfer:

Not original and slow, but fun for multiplayer Mario Party 8 is yet another installment in the Mario Party series. Like all the other parts, it's a board game with mini-games. So, it's not original anymore and can quickly become boring. The game has a slow pace, so you'll need some patience. Graphically, the game looks better than its predecessors, but it's still mediocre. There are also few really enjoyable mini-games in the game. However, the ones that are fun are truly entertaining and always a blast to play. You can unlock many things in the game, and it's a fun party game. But if you're playing alone, then play something else. Cijfer:
6,0 Read more reviews.Ideal for an evening with friends, less suitable for solo play Mario Party 8 is a truly typical party game. Lots of mini-games, a cheerful appearance, and enjoyable gameplay. Many mini-games are very creatively designed, but at the same time can be repetitive. Graphically, it looks better than the earlier Mario Party games. This is the perfect game to play with friends. But if you're home alone, you might as well put it back on the shelf. Cijfer:

Amazing: Guaranteed laughter! This game is simply a must-have for the Wii, it's fun, cozy, it just has a hefty dose of humor in it! Whether it's because of the funny way the characters move or the terribly funny mini-games with their accompanying videos, I wouldn't know. It's also fun to play it alone but definitely fun to do it with a group. Guaranteed laughter with Mario Party 8! Cijfer:

Fun mini-games and funny moments with friends I find Mario Party 8 a very enjoyable game. The downside is that you always have to wait for the other players. But that can be funny too, because then you can see how bad :P the others are. I like the mini-games the most because you have to work together. Overall, this is truly my favorite game on the Wii. Always Fun for Friends and Family Well... My opinion of these games is very important! Mario Party 8 is a super cool game! You can play various games with it and just like in the good old days with the Nintendo Gamecube, you also have the so-called 'board game' again! A multiplayer game! In short, always fun to play with friends or family! Cijfer:

Great party game with new mini-games The past Mario Party games have always been fun to play with friends. Mario Party 8 is once again a great party game. Even though it doesn't differ much from the previous Mario Party games, it's a lot of fun for parties. There are fun new mini-games, but once again, the 1-player Story Mode doesn't offer much. But since it's Mario PARTY, we shouldn't pay too much attention to that. There are cool new boards where you can play new games, which is fun, but I would have preferred more boards where you could play the classic Mario Party mode. Cijfer:

Varied mini-games, but fewer than its predecessors The Mario Party series, you either love it or you don't. Personally, I find it a very enjoyable series, with a lot of varied mini-games. However, I think Mario Party 8 is slightly less than its predecessors. But that doesn't mean it's not a fun game, it definitely gets a well-deserved 8 from me :) Cijfer:
8,0Lots of mini-games Mario Party 8 is a fantastic family game. You can choose from various fields to play with up to 4 people. There are also plenty of mini-games, all of which are enjoyable. It's fun that you have to use the Wiimote in different ways. It's truly an entertaining game that doesn't get boring quickly. Cijfer:

Latest game from Hudsonsoft is a success Mario Party 8 is in my opinion the best of the Wii (U) games because you're not all in one vehicle. After everyone has had a turn, a new mini-game begins. Not every map has 2 boss battles. You can fight Bowser if you win all 6 maps in the Star Battle Arena and you'll receive Blooper or Hammer Bro. Personally, I find Shy Guy Perplex Express the most enjoyable. This is Hudsonsoft's final game, and they've wrapped it up nicely! Cijfer:

Amazing Party Game! What an amazing party game this is! Mario Party 8 is without a doubt my favorite party game on the Nintendo Wii. There is just so much to do and so many minigames, you simply can't get enough.
But let's start with the party boards. There are 6 party boards, one of which needs to be unlocked. Some are more creative than others, but that's certainly not a drawback. The goal in the party mode is essentially like playing snakes and ladders, only much more unfair. Each round, one of your friends will inevitably get wrecked by another, and it's hilarious. You also play a minigame every round, as always. Read more...
Now, the minigames, of which there are a total of 65. They are super fun and you can play them individually, but also combined with an extra game mode.
Then we have the Fun Bazaar. There you can purchase extra minigames or game modes. How does the purchasing system work? It's simple: every time you play a party board, you earn tickets and with those tickets, you buy those extra minigames and game modes. It's a fun way to reward yourself for all those hours of playing.
Lastly, we have the extra modes. There you can play special minigames that you can't just play anywhere else. A good example is Moped Mayhem, a minigame where you race against 50 computers. And with a variety of 3 race tracks. This is super fun to unlock and these kinds of extras truly make a game outstanding.
As you can tell, Mario Party 8 is a fun party game to play on the Nintendo Wii. Looking for a good party game? Look no further, because this is truly one of the best you can get. But let's say Mario isn't really your thing, then I can also highly recommend getting Wii Party. It's a bit more standard and easy for everyone to understand. Hide. Cijfer:

Mario and his gang do the craziest, but amazing things. This is a super fun game, you can do a lot of different mini-games, so it never gets boring! I especially love the multiplayer option, it's super cool! Mario Party 8 offers a game that many people should invest a lot of time in! Cijfer:

A great game for some fun with friends!
Mario Party 8 is a fantastic game to play with friends. You can play with Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, Daisy, Waluigi, Toad, Boo, Toadette, Birdo, Dry Bones, and two secret characters you need to unlock. Those are Blooper and Hammer Bro. The game offers 6 different and unique boards to choose from. Personally, I find most boards a bit dull and linear. However, I think Koopa's Tycoon Town is the best in the whole series. In this board, you have to earn stars by investing coins in hotels. The more coins you put in, the bigger the hotel becomes, and you earn more stars. But your friends can take over the hotel if they invest more coins than you. It's a refreshing change from the usual boards, and I really enjoy it. Additionally, the mini-games are great and vary nicely between 4 players each for themselves, 3 vs. 1, and 2 vs. 2. There's also a shop in the game where you can exchange tickets for new mini-games, among other things. You can win tickets by playing the game a lot. You can also buy collectibles that are not really useful but are necessary to complete the game 100%.
I grew up with this game and consider it one of the best Mario Party games. Cijfer:
8,0More fun with friends, varied mini-games Just like all the other Mario Party games, Mario Party 8 is only fun when you play it together with your friends. It's a board game, with lots of mini-games to enjoy. Some mini-games are really fun, but some are a bit disappointing. Graphically, it's nothing special, but it does fit the childlike style of the game. Cijfer:
7,0Great mini-games and a fun board game concept! Indeed, there have already been a lot of 'party games' released, but that doesn't make this one any less boring. The mini-games are fantastic, and you'll keep playing them over and over. The board game concept behind the game is also well executed here. Mario Party 8 is really great fun! Cijfer:

Challenging and Funny Mini Games for Endless Fun
I absolutely love Mario Party 8, as I have always been a huge fan of Mario. The games are truly challenging and funny. It's not a game you can just finish quickly, as you can actually keep playing it endlessly. The mini games are great and don't get boring too quickly.
And of course, my favorite player is none other than Mario! Cijfer:

Perfect for Family and Parties, Less Fun Alone So, this is really a fun party game. But only to play with the whole family. Playing alone on the game board is not exciting. What is fun to do alone are the mini-games. Mario Party 8 is great for birthdays, with friends, or indeed with your entire family! This is truly a recommendation if the whole family is crazy about the Wii. But if you own the Wii yourself and never have anyone to game with, then I do not recommend this game. Cijfer:

Perfect for parties with friends and family Mario Party 8 is truly a blast! At our place, I often play it with Mario and his friends on a board game full of mini-games. Each turn you spin a wheel and move across the board, which always keeps it exciting for me.
The mini-games in Mario Party 8 are very enjoyable and diverse. Think of racing, jumping, and solving puzzles. The variety of mini-games especially keeps it interesting. You can play with four players, making it super fun for parties and gatherings with friends or family.
The graphics are cheerful and the music is lively, adding to the festive atmosphere. It's truly a fantastic game to play together with friends and family. A top party you wouldn't want to miss! Cijfer:

More fun with friends, lacks WiFi options Mario Party 8 is only enjoyable when playing with friends or family. It's a shame that this installment also lacks WiFi options. The mini-games are, of course, entertaining as always, but I wouldn't pay 50 Euros for this if you already own another Mario Party game. The Wii controls don't really add much to the experience. Fun game with lots of unlockable content, but requires patience I think it's a fun game, but you do need to have patience because if you want to throw 50 times, it really takes too long. I do find it very enjoyable myself because you can unlock all sorts of things. Once you start, time flies by quickly because before you know it, I've spent 3 hours on the Wii.Mario Party 8 Cijfer:

Mario Party 8 another great game from Nintendo I think Mario games are really cool games.
And Mario Party 8 is once again a good game from Nintendo.

I think the game is most fun in multiplayer because you experience more fun that way, even though the mini-games are so ridiculous, you can laugh more.

Amazing game!
I'm not the biggest fan of Mario Party 8, because the computers always seem to have an extreme amount of luck, causing you to lose often. The mini-games are a lot of fun, but the boards are just okay.
However, there is one fantastic and legendary board, called Koopa's Tycoon Town. Here, you have to buy hotels for coins and can upgrade them for more stars. This is where you can outsmart the AI and have very entertaining long matches! Cijfer:

Nice, but there are better Mario Party games out there Mario Party 8 is a decent game. It's not my favorite Mario Party game, but certainly not bad. I particularly enjoy the train and city boards. The mini-games are okay. There are some fun features with the candies, but this game could never hold my attention for long. I much preferred playing Mario Party 9. Cijfer:

One of the most enjoyable Mario Party games! Mario Party 8 is probably one of my favorite Mario Party games. The game offers numerous mini-games, boards, and game modes, providing hours of entertainment. It's perfect for playing with friends and family, and can bring lots of laughter and fun.
However, it's a bit disappointing that the game doesn't support widescreen, but this is a minor issue and doesn't change anything about the gameplay. Cijfer:

Great minigames and multiplayer fun Mario Party 8 is truly a blast with friends. The game boards are diverse, like a jungle and one where you can buy hotels. The minigames are super fun and provide a lot of enjoyment. The graphics are a bit lacking, but that doesn't take away from the fun. Multiplayer is definitely much more enjoyable than playing solo! Secrets: Why are "trice candy" sweets so handy in Mario Party 8? Buy lots of candy. Especially "trice candy" (so you can roll 3 dice) is very tasty. It makes you move very quickly, allowing you to collect lots of coins and candy. Additionally, they are useful for collecting bonus stars: most coins, most candy, and longest distance in Mario Party 8. Secrets: Why can a slow dice be useful in Mario Party 8? This "slow dice" may not seem very useful at first. However, it can actually come in handy! Because it moves slowly, with some practice, you can get it to land exactly on the number you need. Super convenient, especially when you want to land on a specific space or avoid one. You'd rather play mini-games against the computer (which you often win) than land on Bowser. Also, the assistance of Donkey Kong can be really helpful in many levels.
The dice works best in the Mario Party 8 train! There's a space where you get off for free and receive a bunch of coins and a free star. Otherwise, you'd have to pay 20 coins. It can get even worse... if Bowser is at the front of the train, it might cost you a star. Secrets: How do you unlock all the minigames in Mario Party 8?
